epoxy resin paint

removal epoxy

epoxy resin paints are multi-component paints, which consist at least of the components epoxy resin and hardener. depending on the use, there can be added different chemicals to adjust the paint to the specific requirements. epoxy resin paints have an extremely high resistance. they are very elastic, create a hard surface and are resistant against water and the most chemicals. that's the reason why they are used to protect highly stressed concrete or steel surfaces and/or for anti-corrosion protection. due to their varied characteristics epoxy resin paints have a wide range of use.

if it is necessary to renovate epoxy-covered surfaces, in the first step you must remove the epoxy coating. there are three different methods for the removal: pickling, compressed air blasting with additives or water jetting. but there are big disadvantages with pickling (use of highly toxic material) and compressed air blasting (use of expensive grit as sand, ice, granulate, powder), so that water jetting is the best method for epoxy-removal. usually ultra high pressure cleaners with an operating pressure of approx. 2,500 bar are used.
