colossal project: world's largest cruise ship stripped of paint

with a length of 342 meters, a height of 20 decks, and a total of 2,500 passenger cabins, this project presented a particular challenge. the entire hull area of 15,500 square meters had to be stripped of paint within ten days.

sandblasting was not an option for this large-scale project! the resulting dust and noise would have made further work very difficult. furthermore, the sand would have had to be disposed of, which would have consumed valuable time and financial resources.

to remove the paint layers efficiently and in an environmentally friendly manner, our customers relied on trailjets and basejets, as well as four robots from falch. wastewater management presented a particular challenge. with the help of two of our new filter systems and sophisticated technology, we managed to filter the contaminated wastewater very effectively. only the paint residue remained for disposal.
