point jet nozzle

point jet nozzle for water jetting

point jet nozzles have a round hole and so release a concentrated water jet. they differ from flat jet nozzles (flat, fan-shaped jet) and rotary nozzles (depending on the model there are one to six rotating water jets).

in comparison to flat jet nozzles, the point jet nozzles have a much higher impact of the water jet. the impact area is much smaller. that's why the use of point jet nozzles makes sense if you need much energy or power in the depth of the removal or cleaning process and less surface coverage. typical applications for point jet nozzles are amongst others: cleaning of pipes, cleaning of filters, cleaning of tanks, cleaning of component parts, but also removal of concrete or removal of rust.

the inlet of falch point jet nozzles is made either of sapphire, ceramics or of high quality steel. they are made for working pressures up to maximum 3,000bar. they are available in different sizes and designs (styles).

the patented falch hyjet nozzle is a special high pressure nozzle. it is characterized by very intensive power transmission. functional principle: a sucking mechanism, integrated inside the nozzle, produces a kind of air cushion around the emerging water jet. the air cushion comes out of the nozzle with a speed of approx. 1,200 km/h and decreases the friction resistance of the water towards the surrounding air. consequently the water jet remains smooth for a much longer time and the removal rate can be increased decisively. due to its enormous efficiency hyjet nozzles are used mainly for concrete removal.

for the sake of completeness you should know that the above-mentioned rotating nozzles are a kind of combination between point jet and flat jet nozzle: the emerging jets have a comparably high impact power as the water jet of the point jet nozzles. further more the rotation of the jets make sure that the jets don't hit the surface in one point, but in a certain area. so the rotating nozzles combine the advantages of point jetting with the advantages of area jetting.
