there are about 10,000 biogas plants in germany alone. the gas they produce is mainly used to generate electricity and heat. the biomass used is generally organic waste and energy crops or livestock manure; however, it can sometimes be very corrosive and corrodes the solid structure of biogas plants significantly. the biomass can damage concrete even after a short period of operation. sediment deposits that reduce the volume of the tanks, thus reducing the capacity of the biogas plant, are another reason why biogas plants should be cleaned on a regular basis.

nesemeier gmbh is a specialist in rehabilitating biogas plants. nesemeier relies on automated falch high-pressure water jetting technology. its advantages are obvious: it enables large concrete surfaces to be cleaned quickly and homogeneously and prepared for re-coating. using automation tool surface worker 250 makes it possible to exploit the full potential of the trail jet 125 which has an operating pressure of 2,500 bar and a flow rate 26 l/min – because using jet lances is less efficient and jetting personnel have to take regular breaks or be replaced. uniform guidance of the jetting head also ensures an even, uniform surface spray pattern. a concrete area of around 2.5 m² can be processed every minute. managing director frank nesemeier: "the automation of water jetting has only had benefits for us. we are significantly faster, jetting results are considerably better and the potential risk for our jetting operatives is negligible."
